Moab Reads Information The goal of the Moab Reads program is to bring individuals in the community together for a shared reading experience in order to increase their enjoyment of reading and build a greater sense of community through discussion and the sharing of thoughts and ideas.
Moab Reads 2010 Schedule of Events ** All events will be held in the Grand County Public Library’s large meeting room unless otherwise noted. The library is located at 257 E. Center Street in Moab, UT.
Thursday, August 5th 7:00-8:00 p.m. Kickoff Party/Book Giveaway Refreshments will be provided and everyone is invited to come and take home a free copy of "The Secret Knowledge of Water"! Program/Discussion guides will also be distributed.

Thursday, October 21st 7:00 p.m. The Secret Knowledge of Water: An Evening with Author Craig Childs Join us for this special evening with the author! Craig Childs will present a slideshow accompanied by stories that will forever change the way you see water. You are invited to bring questions about The Secret Knowledge of Water to discuss with Childs. Craig Childs is a writer who focuses on natural sciences, archaeology and mind-blowing journeys into the wilderness. He has published more than a dozen critically acclaimed books on nature, science and adventure. He is a commentator for National Public Radio’s Morning Edition, and his work has appeared in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Men’s Journal, Outside and Orion. The expeditions Childs undertakes often last weeks or months, infusing his writing with a hard-earned sense of landscape and culture. Childs has won several awards including the 2008 Galen Rowell Art of Adventure Award, the 2007 Sigurd Olson Nature Writing Award and the 2003 Spirit of the West Award for his body of work, an honor he shares with Wallace Stegner, Terry Tempest Williams and N.
